Hi All,

I recently had a very exciting game going against IM Tom Rendle. He out played me throughout the game, but when we reached a complex ending, I felt I had drawing chances and was eager to see how the game would play out. Tom had to leave to complete in the Gibtel tournament in Gibraltar. Unfortunately he forgot to check the appropriate boxes before going on vacation. I sent him an e-mail but he was obviously not logging on to the site. I offered a draw in the vain hope that this would trigger some kind of delay, but it didn't. As a consequence, Tom forfeited the game.

I do not like to win games this way. If, as there is at ChessWorld, there was a double forfeit option, I would have taken that. Ideally, though, a  player should have the option of putting a game on hold in a situation like this. Would it be possible to build such an option into Chess.com?

I have reinstated the game for you so that it can be continued. He should have his time back now.

Thank you so much. Tom will be back from Gibraltar in a week I suspect. No one can accuse Chess.com of not having good technical support!Laughing

Ok, have you notified him that the game has been reinstated? I just looked at the game and it shows he has 3 days left. But if he runs out of time again and you both wish to reinstate the game then I can do that for you again.
