Vote Chess seems like a GREAT idea, but the implementation seems poor.  For example, I'd like there to be a way for me to  start a vote chess game and send out invites with people who can to accept or decline (like a tournament) and then chess.com can arrange the group into two teams, randomly choose captains (who would choose a team name) and play from there.  However short of making two standard teams/groups I don't see how this would be possible.

BTW why do you want chess.com to randomly choose captains? Sounds like a bad idea to me. In the meantime, just form your own group and only admit players that you would be willing to have on your TVC team(s). There's already a zillion or so teams here to challenge, you can do that on your own.

Captaincy (to me) seems unnecessary.  It's majority rules, if there's a tie maybe the captain should break it...but their vote should already be cast and that should be their move.  I don't know enough about the details of TVC.

The "captaincy" is important to remind players not to vote prematurely and to let them know when it's OK to vote, and to recommend moves after a debate on differing choices (presuming the capt is qualified to do so). Yeah you can do without one but it's better to have one IMHO.
