Live in a small town USA and thinking of starting a scholastic club, I know the rules and have about 1500 ucf rating.  I have never taught chess before and looking for hints and pointers to help.  Not sure I am the right person for the job but I may be the only person for the job, please leave comments and helpful hints.

    Hey Mike,

Get Chessmaster GM edition and watch how Josh teaches chess in his academy. It is surprisingly underpriced for the wonderful teaching of Josh Waitzkin. Make sure u go through ALL of the course, including all annotated games in various sections of the academy, they are the most helpful.

    regards,

I'm sorry for seeing this three years after the fact. For all I know you may already have started your scholastic chess club. However if not, I just want to encourage you in that if the idea came to you, you are (by all means) the right man for the job.

You obviously saw a need for this in your community and see how such a program can have a profound impact on those you want to teach. Many times plans of execution come after the ideas. Let God be your lead in this dance.
