Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, the renowned Long Island arts camp, has just confirmed the date for its 6th annual Chess Challenge, open to grades K-12. It will happen on Sunday September 23 at noon (check-in from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM), at Usdan Center's specially built Maurice B. Hexter Chess Center. The tournament is US Chess Federation-rated, and will be directed by Usdan Chess Instructors Brian Karen (a USCF and FIDE Expert) and Joel Salman (a USCF and FIDE Master).
Usdan is at 185 Colonial Springs Road in Wheatley Heights (Huntington), on a 200-acre woodland campus.
For information, contact Brian Karen at BrianKaren@usa.net, or Joel Salman at JSalman@optonline.net.
Fees are $25 in advance, due by September 18, and $35 the day of the tournament. To register, call Usdan Center at (631) 643-7900 and ask for Kerry Discioarro, or email email@example.com.

There will be trophies awarded to the top five in each section. Sections may be altered depending on enrollment. Half-point byes are available on request.
