A while ago I complained about the banner ads for some chess pieces or something across the top of my home page, and the response I got from staff was along the lines of, "this is an internal ad and we cannot remove it selectively for premium members.  This kind of ad was covered in the subscriber agreement."

Now I see match.com ads at the bottom of my screen, etc, not even vaguely related to chess.  I feel like my agreement is being violated, though I suppose it's possible that match.com is on the list of "unremovable" ads, or whatever.

Am I overreacting here, or do other premium members feel like I do about these ads?

There must be like 1800 posts on these forums about those ads.... they are part of the Meebo chat bar at the bottom of your screen. If you don't like them you can remove them by removing the chat bar on this page: http://www.chess.com/home/privacy.html .
