Has anyone heard of the game BugHouse? Has anyone played BugHouse before? Well, BugHouse is basically like Chess, where the places where the pieces move are the same, but you play as a team, (usually 2 people per team). The way you win is to capture one of the other team's kings like you simply capture any other piece, (except Impassant) or you can checkmate on of the other team's king. You play with 2 boards, 1 person from each team on a board. I can't really give you an example of a BugHouse game for you to see, since you are not able to make a BugHouse game. Well anyway, I would like to see the BugHouse game on Chess.com, since there are BugHouse tournaments and it is my favorite game, (besides Chess). If Chess.com was making the BugHouse game on Chess.com, they can put it under Live Chess, or I guess they can make a feature like Live Chess, except it is labeled, "BugHouse" or maybe, "BugHouse Chess." They can probably even put instructions on how to play BugHouse. They don't really need to put any "BugHouse Mentor" or anything like that because I don't think BugHouse is a game of strategy. Well, if you would like to see the BugHouse game on Chess.com, then please post here with your comments and/or questions! I will also be posting in another BugHouse forum:
Also, there is a BugHouse website that might include the rules to BugHouse Chess:
I have created the blog including the BugHouse Chess suggestion and and I will post this forum's link in my blog. Here is the link to my blog:
Please don't keep on quoting other posts without leaving any comments because this forum needs material and posts that aren't spamming because I don't want this forum to get locked. People will also think this forum is a joke, if there is alot of spamming going on in this forum. Thanks! If this spamming continues on, I will block you, so you will be unable to post in this forum. If you really want to make this forum active until one of the Chess.com staff members approves/disapproves this idea, then you should put some posts in here that aren't spam and that are really worth it to keep this forum active. I won't block you if you quote, just don't quote the same thing over and over without leaving any problems! Again, thanks! It seems that the more people post and post in a forum and the more posts in a forum, the more problems in a forum.
Sorry! I seem to be having problems with some of the links in this forum!
Yes bughouse would be fun to have here.
I've played bughouse and we played for checkmate, which is verified by the wikipedia article assuming it has any authenticity. BTW how is it not a game of strategy? Yo no comprendo, but anyways it is fun & I think would make a good addition to this site. Here's a bughouse site for you in the meantime
Oh, thanks for the BugHouse site, I wondered if there was any Chess site that had BugHouse or a BugHouse site. I think BugHouse would be the greatest or close to greatest addition to Chess.com ever since the site started. In addition to that, they could put BugHouse tournaments, too. I will look at that link that you posted. Thanks for that link!
Bughouse.net is a very difficult site to explore, I don't even know how to play BugHouse on
Sorry, typo. Here is what I meant to say: Bughouse.net is a very difficult site to explore, I don't even know how to play BugHouse on Bughouse.net because I can't find it! Though, those other BugHouse sites on that list of BugHouse sites on Bughouse.net, might help me find other BugHouse sites that are better than Bughouse.net, but I do think Chess.com should add BugHouse.
Naturally people have their own rules. When I was in high school we played that checkmate was a valid way to end the game, but it was a legal (although obviously inferior) move to leave your king hanging, and it was up to the other person to notice. We also played that you couldn't drop a piece for checkmate directly. Asking your partner to try to give you a particular piece was legal but not suggesting moves. One slight problem was stalling when one side was about to lose on one board - they'd wait the clock down as far as possible. So you wouldn't want to play with more than about 5 minutes a side.
It's a fun variant, but my guess is they have other things they'd rather implement first.
Well, BugHouse should be ended by one person capturing their opponent's king, not just checkmating them like in Regular Chess because that is how BugHouse is played and ended. I don't think it is a rule to put one piece in front of the king to check them, or checkmate them, because a) you don't end the game with a checkmate and b) you can only put one piece down at a time. Also, you cannot place a pawn at the end of the board to promote it right after you placed it there. You would have to put the pawn in the row in front of the end of the board, or the second to last row to the end of the board. I guess Chess.com could research the BugHouse rules, too, just to be sure that they are making the BugHouse rules right and they don't mess anything up.
To C.C please make bughouse!!!
Yes, we need BugHouse Chess on Chess.com, it would make a great addition to the site! But please fix the aborting problem first and finish the redesigning of the site!
Bughouse does end with a checkmate, however if the position on the board is a checkmate but a piece can be dropped to change that then its not over, even if the player who is in "checkmate" doesn't have any pieces in his hand.Like I wrote on another topic here, FICS has bughouse, so you can play it there. I used to for a while but I decided I didn't like it messing with my regular chess skills (plus it's too addictive) so I decided to stop. FICS has many variants that you can play, like crazyhouse (like bughouse but 1 on 1, if you capture an opponents piece it changes color and you can drop it in), atomic (a capture results in an explosion, destroying all pieces arround the epicenter(where the captured piece was) except for pawns. If your opponents king falls to an explosion of course you win), suicide chess(the goal is to lose all your pieces, captures are compulsory), etc..
Hm, and can you get the link to this website?
We the Quoters of this post and quotes of the aforesaid agree to keep this thread active so that C.C will see it! We also agree to add something meaningful to this thread every time we quote this post thus ensuring that we will possess a myriad of ideas when C.C decides to start working on bughouse. (and so that we don't get banned from this thread)

Yes, we need to get as many supporters, comments, and/or reviews for this idea, so that the Chess.com staff will make the final decision. I will be posting in the other BugHouse forum under Chess960 and other variants:

I also Contacted Chess.com, by going through Help and Support and Contacting Help and Support suggesting BugHouse. I did that at the beginning of November and they haven't replied since, so it may take some time before we get any replies from the Chess.com staff.
