Are the live games developed on a flash or java platform?

If it's on Flash, then does it have a load.swf page/

correct - neither. good old fashioned javascript/dhtml. 

Is flash used for sounds at all? I had FlashBlock enabled in Live Chess and wasn't getting any audio (game sounds, etc.). I whitelisted chess.com in Flashblock and the audio works now.

Anyway - good move bypassing Flash for the heavy lifting. Seems like there is a Java applet used for "play against the computer" games - that has never worked for me.

oh, so thats why I need a java script enabled browser to play live.
