Hi
Starting today, the background colour of chess.com pages changed from a pale colour to a quite dark grey, making reading anything on the site very difficult.
I don't know if this was intentional, accidental or indeed my browser rather than the site.
I have now customised to a pale colour so all is well but if this was deliberate, please bear in mind those of us with poor eyesight when making future changes
Thanks
Richard

Richard this wasn't a change we added :( We didn't change it.
Can you tell me which browser and version you're using please so I can try and replicate what you're seeing?
Thanks for the reply, using IE 9.0.7
Effect happened with default theme
I have default theme.
This is what I see using IE9 on Windows 7 http://grab.by/eq6S

I'm having the same problem!
As i can't see what you're seeing its harder for me to determine the cause. Is it possible you can take a screenshot for me please and also let me know which browser and version you're using? If you're unsure on how to take a screenshot, this page shows a step by step guidehttp://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-in-Microsoft-WindowsIf you're on a PC (not mac), the Print Screen (or PRT SCRN) key (top row on the right) will take a screenshot .Open the Paint application (click on Start in the bottom left of your screen, then All Programs -> Accessories -> Paint).Paste (hold down Ctrl and press 'V' at the same time) the snapshot will then it into the Paint document, and save it (File -> Save ...).Save the file to your desktop, then send it in with that image as an attachmentOn a mac, its cmd shift 4
then email it to kohai@chess.com
Thanks, screen shot just sent

I have the unexpected gray screen too when using IE. I opened chess.com in Firefox & everything was the normal colors that I used to have when using IE.
On your browser can you please use the compatibility mode (refresh after if needed). The color should then return to normal.
Kohai
Tried that after resetting to default theme but still the grey I'm afraid, unlike dasJets for me the same is true on firefox.
Which version of firefox is it?
May be a bit old as i don't often use it. 3.6.3
Yes, its old and we don't actually support it
Any chance you can update it?
kco
is free to get it updated to the latest firefox: oops kohai beat me to it.
Now have firefox 13.0.1 but same effect for the chess.com colours
Same as the image you mailed me ?
