My tactics trainer rating has been steadily rising since I joined the site more than a year ago, and it peaked at about 2200 in September last year.
Since then, it's been steadily decreasing, and it's now in the 1600s, every day I use it it, my rating gets worse.
Seems a bit strange, has the formula changed recently? Or did I hit my head at some point, lose braincells and forget it happening?
It's pretty depressing having this low rating, and I don't feel like I'm 600 points worse all of a sudden ...
Update: could it be because the only problems I seem to get now are ones lower than my current rating? This would mean it's a lot easier for my rating to go down that up right?

mate, i had this problem. it's because you've done all the problems around your rating, so the only ones available to you are lower rated...awit a while til they create more higher rated problems - far your a 24 hour bro!
Nah I don't think that's it, it's not that the problems are massively lower than my rating, it's just that they're always slightly lower (but still pretty close)

The rating in the TT is just a number, used by the database program to give the users tactical problems corresponding to their strength. That's all. Why are you so concerned about an arbitrary number? Maybe the formula has changed a little bit (in the past, huge jumps up and down were common), maybe the problem pool changed, maybe there are more strong tacticians (and thus the rating of the problem goes down).
That's true, and I don't really care what the number is, but the situation I'm in now is that I'm getting lots of problems correct, but my rating is still falling. Which means over time, the problems I'm attempting are getting easier and easier. Not great practice :)
