Well... it is not solved... charlotte gave me an work-arround.

It I can help you: vista home premium, most current updates.

Firefox, 3.6.28 - portable.

I thought it was solved... Two possible solutions, which I had enumerated in my now deleted post above:

1. Install an FF upgrade, if available.

2. Use another browser.

Most if not all of my solutions are applicable to Vista - I'm running XP SP3 and I don't think Vista is radically different although it's obviously not identical.

I'm having the same problem every once in awhile since the upgrade.  Also using Firefox, ver. 3.6.26

I'm using Firefox, too... version 11.0, without any problems.  It's a desktop app, not portable.
