my game was interrupted with the message "connection interrupted" however, my clock kept going. Anyone else has had this problem?

If there is a "connection interupted" error it means that mosyt likely there is a slow or intermitent connection on your end.

because it's your computer that disconnected, the game clock still continues to count down, and vice versa if your opponent disconnects.
