Time Control Changes?

We need your help! We are thinking of:

• Removing 5 | 2 and implementing 3 | 2
• Removing 30 | 0 and implement 25 | 5 in its place

What do you think about this? Let us know!

What about "pool" buttons for whichever time controls y'all decide to go with?

What about timestamps for PGN regardless of time control?

25/5 would be great.

I think replacing 30 with 25/5 is good.

5/2 and 3/2 i think it would be good to have both instead of replacing.

25/5 is better than 30.

But what about adding 45/45 and 90/30 in order to encourage some real chess activity?

Many players here have to join various groups just in order to find slow games. Why not offer such flow time controls as defaults? I'm sure you will see many players use those buttons.

I agree, 45|45 and 90|30 and similar would be very useful.

And as has been asked many times, when are we going to get timestamping in .PGNs?

Exchaning 30|0 with something could be an improvement.

Having both 15|10 and 25|5 is a little unclear which one is longer, and what to expect.

How about having 15|5 and 25|10? (or 15|10 and 25|15, just to be very clear that one is a longer game than the other)

I don't play blitz often but I like 5/2

While I agree that longer time controls are desirable, there is a potential problem having those as choices. Inexperienced (new) players might have no idea that 90+30 can be a 5h+ commitment.

Or that disconnectors can stall for 2h when they are in a losing position.

25/5 is epic! 

25/5 is appropiated

The 25/5 seems fine.

I play 5/2 all of the time, with lots of 4/4 (custom). Both are great when you want a game for about ten minutes. If you want to change the 5/2, then please change it to 5/5. The increment is really needed in this time slot. Thanks.

45/45 and 90/30 with timestamps in PGN

You should add the 3/2 and 25/5 but keep the 5/2

Please an addition of these time controls as defaults could make it easier to include many who find it difficult to travel to get an OTB game. Also such an easily accessable feature could make it easier for people who like chess.com to direct others to the site.
