I'm sure this has been started elsewhere but I figure I might as well put it out there. I would love to see some more trophies put up. I know you can make custom ones, but ones I give away after regular games are what I am talking about. Maybe some way a forum topic could be opened up just to give ideas for new trophies (or if there is one let me know), because it's really easy to give away the same trophies over and over and over and I hate sending the same trophies to a person over and over (except good game or good sportsmanship). I know not too long ago about 5 more were added, how about some more :)

You make a good point about that. I remember talking about this sometime with you and I agree...why do we have the same trophies all the time?

baseballfan was gathering ideas here - help-make-chesscom-even-better - when he was on the staff. Quite a number have been implemented, though there are still substantial suggestions that have not been taken up. This does seem to be a sensible central place to collect customised trophy concepts. It would just need another member of staff to pick it up and run with it.

Hopefully that can be revived -What trophies members would like to see added?

What about a trophy that says "Tricks of the trade," and has a picture of an exchange of two pieces.

Or maybe one that says "I blinked, and it was over-good game"

Or "I'm Checking out of that game, well done!"

These are just off the top of my head. I know I'll think of some more; usually it's after I play an interesting game that I think of ones I might like to see. I'll keep you posted.

If you win a game why would you want to give a trophy that says for one: "you beat me"? Did you not win the game?

Can you expand or what is it that I am missing?

When I understand I might be able to propose a few tropheys , particurly if you tell us what is it that you want to say to your opponent about the game you won or the game you lost. If you lost perhaps you want to say  to your opponent with  terms of a larger extension; something great,unusual, reflexive, unexpected, your last cannon ball hit the key pin on he nose, etc.

Custom Trophys is the smart way to go.

There are several existing game trophies designed to be given by the winner to the loser e.g. Mystery, Second place, Small difference, Chance, Almost there, Optimism, Enthusiasm, Shakespeare.

I am simply trying to find here if FM Kacparov and Artfizz are talking the same language on the same wave lenght through a radio broadcast or over a CB.

Are we looking for trophies for winners or loosers? I have suggestions and need to get directions on where the bus terminal is heading London or Singapore.
