As in most gambits, by trading a few early pawns for an advantage in development.  The bishop pair is aiming at black's kingside, and white has a central pawn, whereas black is just missing a king pawn.

However, black can usually equalize, if you're familiar with the attack. Smile

Look at the board, Mygame5377, white has a clear advantage: one center pawn, two minors pieces developed versus black's whopping total of zero pieces developed.  Yes, that's right!  Zero pieces developed for black, for he's already lost his center pawn!
