italy is 301,230 square km and Spain is 504,728 square km so I dont think its the size.

Other than that its just a matter of taste I guess, I dont feel there is much rivalary between Italy and Spain. Personaly I like Spain better others might like Italy.

I thought you were american anyway

ok my bad, only Canadian friend I have is from quebec so I just assumed. But I still think "in Europe you're surrounded by foreign nations each with it's own language"

is a bad argument for why Europeans are better in langues than Americans. Usealy you have to leave the contry to hear a foreign langue, but in southern parts if the US I get the feeling you only need go to the nearest street conrner.

More important is the cultural and historical differences. At the time when America was "discovered" Europeans had been killing each other for 3000 years The ability to distinguish between a German saying "did you sleep with my wife" and "Come over for dinner" could very much save your life.

They aren't "better" and I never said they were either I said the reason you're forced to learn a foreign lanuage in Europe is because you're surrounded by many languages and if you don't speak any of them you'll have difficulty finding a job or traveling within europe so it's simply supply and demand.. you don't learn chinese in europe quite likely and that's because it's rather uncommon to need to speak chinese...

    I agree.

Vikings would kick ass as long they could use their boats. Ride ten minutes into the prarie and they would have been slaughtered. Vikings actualy never fought on horseback. They rode to the field of battle, dismounted and started running towards each other

maskedbishop.. You are to fun not to talk back to. You lost the only game you played here. You bullet rating is very low. Do you even now how to play?

Sokrates. One of the smartest thinkers of the world ones said.. The more you know, the more you realise things you dont know. Ore not that exact words but the meaning was that. I go for meaning. To lazy to look it up, the exact words.. but yeah..

So, coming from your statements, mister know it all, and copy paste Wiki.. Why do you even think, being smart and popular makes you right?
    If you are that?

The only thing, that makes this interesting, is that I dont have to win. I like chess because it gives me a lot. It makes me focus. Is like mediatating state of mind of total focus. Is cleaning bullshit of the radar. Its pure.

And on a hobby level, I like to play my club team to the next best league in Denmark... It will me my first season on my towns best team. After I help my towns second best team up, in the 3 best league..

So now as a small town in Denmark, we have 2 teams in the 3 best league in Denmark! :-)

I just like to play, finding the best move is pure, you get smarter, you focus... Its like weightlifting for the brain. :-) I like to see how you guys watch porn. I think you could do a lot for the world if you let the rest of the world now? :-)

And the chess club with beer, and fun always out on the late hours is one of the funniest places to be.

other than that I cant answer how being smart and popular make you right, other than being dumb and unpopular often implies being wrong.

When I was younger, and better, I played tournaments in Europe. It was different, but I'm not sure how much I can say as I haven't yet played any in the US.
