Hello everybody. I joined yesterday so can't enter tournaments until I have completed 5 games, but I don't understand what the format e.g) 6(2)->1 means

Can someone explain please?

I think it means 6 players, 2 games each & 1 player advances from each group. I haven't played tournaments so Im not 100 % sure
