Going on Vacation.

I am in 4 tournaments that are no vacation where I am waiting for the second round to start.  I am going on vacation.  Can I withdraw from the tournaments now, before the second round starts, without losing games (and rating?)?

Yes. You can't lose games that have not yet started.

Thanks Sred.  Going to Cuba and I hear the internet there is all but unusable.

Check Tourns. at top of page. I think u may lose games once second round starts, but your on-line rating will not be affected.

After withdrawing one doesn't participate in the next round, so there will be no games that could be lost.

fraggemstein for your benefit i live in Cuba about half the year. It depends where you are going and what time controls / is java required for the website. IN HAVANA there are hotels with WIFI and you could certainly use this to play. I have. However, outside of Havana I don't know anywhere with wi-fi. Correspondence chess though would probably be possible to play in Cuba.
