Hi Guys,
I'd like to be able to put on a straight knock-out tourney that is formatted as you only play your opponent the once, like we do in "Let's Play" games. Then if you win you're through to the next round,if you lose then, obviously, you are out and if you draw then you both go through. This format seems much more sensible and fairer to me but,I think, you are unable to stage a tourney with that format on Chess.com.I'd like your feedback about how you feel with this suggestion.
Thanks,
Mike in Oz (wallyjack) :-)
Well, if you only get one match, the person with black will be at a disadvantage.
that would be a great idea, but like ryan said, it might be better (and fairer) to have a tournament like now where you get 2 games. but what happens if each person wins one game?
Exactly Thotr2 and I can tell you that if you draw 1-1 then the tie-break is useless as you both get the same number so both of you advance. If that happens in all the games, not saying it will but it's a possibility, then no-one is eliminated and the tourney will probably outlive us all !!!! :-)
A nice thing would be to have two games,
and if 1-1,
a third game where white HAS to win (if draw black wins). This third game would be unrated of course.
Excellent suggestion Mysterix !!!
