I know this is a well covered topic, but why would anyone enter a quickplay tournamament and then goes on leave for ages?

In one tournament (a 1 day play), all of the games in all of the groups are completed apart from those against one person, who has been on vacation for ages.

I have no desire to be unkind to anyone, but would like to understand why people do such things... If you know you are going away, why enter? Or if something unexpected comes up, why not just withdraw? Not moaning...Just interested in understanding! Any thoughts?

lol....I agree but maybe they didn't know they had to go away

maybe it was unexpected

but to stay on focus with the question

Why would someone who knows they are going on vacation then enter a tournament and delay the games causing everything to be held up just for them?

My answer is because they are a self absorbed egocentric f#@ktard!!!!!!

I still think vacation should not apply to tournament games anyway....I understand the purpose behind vacations but they shouldn't apply when one player is holding up countless others!!!

Now Kobe (as always) makes a good point....However, my posting was around understanding why this happens and was not a complaint.....So no shame on my behalf Kobe and still no free Taxi for you...lol

Glad to report that the player in question came back and completed their games (so, glad to say, fit and well)... I then moved into the next round and got stuffed by a much better player than me, who fully deserved to go onto the next round.

We all then lived happily ever after.
