im new to chess.com and have  grown quickly tobe quite fond of this site

today im embarking on a new wrinkle in my career.MY FIRST TOURNAMENT

Any advice from you guys would be appreciated..

i think some guys get kinda salty if you try to chat much with them. they get in the zone and what not.

maybe that's just my experience though.

I guess your first chess.com tournament. Don't rush! Spend at least 30 seconds every move checking for hanging pieces and whatever tactical motifs you know. :)

Just relax and do the majority of thinking on your opponents time. Look for tactical motifs, and watch the pawn structure throughout the game.Cool

do your thing and follow your instincts and beware of hanging pieces- traps...
