You should join if:
1) You play 1. d4 and have never seen the response 1...f5
2) You play 1. d4 and don't see f5 often enough to have a good repetoire for it
3) You play the Dutch and are looking to school some people who think weakening e5 and exposing the King is a terrible idea so early.
