In many tournaments I play in there are players who have been removed.

As TD for the 1st time how do I remove a player?

By hitting the red cross a message says "You cannot withdraw a player with unfinished games"

In this case this is irrelevant - this individual needs to be removed

Why? The only reason they'd "need" to be removed is because of some sort of rules violation. In which case you can just report it to staff and they'll deal with it.

I have been a member here for 12 months and would like some help from members with more experience than me. Not uninformed comments from some upstart who has been here 3 days!

Member-TDs can remove a player before the tournament starts and between rounds when the player has no unfinished games.
