Too many upcoming tournaments

I like to play in tournaments and I face following problem. If I register for a tournment it takes ages until tournament is fully subscribed and can start. This is because there are too many upcoming tournaments available and this inflated number leads to extremely slow subscription process.

Some statistics, when I write this, there are 156 upcoming tournaments, 80 of which (more than half) has at most 2 registered players.

That’s no good, and I think we should significantly decrease the number of upcoming tournaments, at least allowing one player to create one tournament at time (there are players who are TDs of many tournaments, most of which with very few participants).
