Some tournaments are billed as never ending, these may be never starting.

Example 1: The tournament director abandoned the site before starting a manual start tournament.

http://www.chess.com/tournament/young-fighters.

The tournament filled but did not start yet the participants did not get the staff to start it. (It can be done, see http://www.chess.com/tournament/all-american. Although in that case the tournament should probably have been cancelled.) Seems there are not enough complainers on the site. Hard to believe I know.

As registrants withdraw the young fighters tournament re-emerges like a ghost ship to trap new registrants. Only when seven participants abandon the site without withdrawing will it disappear from the list of upcoming tournaments forever.

Example 2: The tournament directors have closed their accounts.

http://www.chess.com/tournament/1st-halloween-tournament (Start date in the past.)

http://www.chess.com/tournament/low-lvl-tournament (Few potential registrants.)

http://www.chess.com/tournament/the-shortest-tournament-ever-2-be-on-chesscom (Start date in the past and few potential registrants.)

The first two could be listed for a very long time. The third could remain listed until the end of the internet.

Should there be some housekeeping or should tournaments remain listed until they either start or disappear on their own?
