Welcome to the SCARIEST trilogy of tournaments ever!!!  pirate*

It is October, time to celebrate Halloween and Dia de la Muerta!! So I've designed a trilogy of terrifying tournaments for anyone who is brave enuf to try them.  rock on!

Since October is the 10th month of the year, each tournament will have 10 players.  worried  When you've got scary things coming after you, you need to move very fast, so all of these tournaments will be set at only 1-day per turn (you'd better be able to keep up).  nail biting And just to make things even scarier, BOTH games per opponent will start immediately!!  That means you will be playing 18 simultaneous games (and any mathematician can tell you that 18 is what you get when you add 6+6+6 devil).

These tournaments will be going very fast, so vacation time is NOT allowed.  time out  However, just to make sure that no one gets hurt for real (it is all in fun after all) these games will also NOT be rated.  whew!

Here are the Custom Trophies for the Halloween Gambit Tournament:

1st Place:

2nd Place:

3rd Place:

Here are the Custom Trophies for the Dracula vs Frankenstein Tournament:

1st Place:

2nd Place:

3rd Place:

And here are the Custom Trophies for the Creepy Crawly Tournament:

1st Place:

2nd Place:

3rd Place:

Good Luck to everyone brave enuf to try these horrifying tournaments!!  Have Fun!!

Umm... a suggestion, I recommend that all games in Tourney #2 (or maybe all three, it's definately scary enough) be played from this position (aka the Frankenstein-Dracula variation):

All 3 tournaments are thematic, and that particular one is indeed from the position you showed (Dracula vs Frankenstein).  The other 2 start with the Halloween Gambit and the Creepy Crawly Formation.

Both the tourney ideas and Ryan's suggestion got me hooked. I'll be playing Pale - In My Head all the time when making moves in those games should I be able to join.

How are they suicide?  You're playing as both black AND white.  So even if you hate the position from one side, you must love it from the other.  And all the games are unrated anyway, so you really have nothing to lose.

Well the Halloween Gambit Tournament filled up fast.  But there's still plenty of spots open in the other 2.  As of this posting, there's only 2 people registered for the Dracula vs Frankenstein, and only 1 for the Creepy Crawly.  The games are unrated, so come on and take a chance.

There's only 4 games left in the Halloween Gambit Tournament, and neither of the other 2 have even started yet!!  In fact, everyone who WAS registered for the Creepy Crawly Tournament has dropped out, so we're back down to zero (I think we were up to 3 at one point).  The Frankenstein vs Dracula Tournament has 7 players signed up at the moment, so we only need 3 more to get that one started.  At this rate tho, the first tournament will be all done before either of the other two even begin.  The games are unrated so you have nothing to lose!!!  Come on!!  Take a chance!!  What's the matter?  Are you too SCARED??  Wink

And the Dracula vs Frankenstein tournament is now underway!!  Good Luck to all the brave souls who were willing to try out this very unusual opening!!  Have Fun!!

Only 3 games left in the Halloween Gambit Tournament, and still no game listed in the "Biggest Upset" spot, which I can only assume that means that the higher rated player has won EVERY game.  That's actually unusual isn't it?  Doesn't every tournament have at least ONE upset?

And still NOBODY is brave enuf to take on the Creepy Crawly Opening?  That's kinda funny to me since my nephew plays it OTB all the time.  Even if you think that white's position is horrible, then you must love the games you'll play as black.  All the games are unrated, so why is everybody afraid of spiders?

Im gonna join the spider tournament..

Because first off i think i can do decent with a6 h6 and play defensively.. and with black i can own..

I am still confused over the fact that Dracula vs Frankestein or w/e got filled up before the spdier tournament.

I hope i get 2nd place in the spider tournament, that picture looks sick :)
