Have I understand correct that I could start tournament after I have finished 5 games? Now is vacation seasons, It could takes several weeks. caissa10

Yes i agree it annoys your opponents when u have to vacation before it really begins or part way through the game especially if ur losing and there waiting to win. Dont worry there will be plenty by the time u get back to play to take your vacation i rekon and play a tourny when u get back...

I am new player here, I cant start any tournament, engine says that I must play 5 games first - odd rule, I think, I am not kid anymore and have play about 800 games by post, email and server.regards jari

you have to finish 5 games before you could start a tournament, the only way you could finish 5 games during this vacation season is to start lots of games with people.

You'll probably find  someone who'll play fast. and you'll collet 5 games very fast.

 

Lots of people join chess.com and many of them start lot's of game and thne stop playing,  so the 5 games rule is GOOD fvor tournament

you can customize your game start position to ge the game going even faster.

Just drag down the box that says standard on the create seek window and it will have a large list of book openings.  

Yes, you have to have completed 5 rated online chess games to be able to join tournaments. You should go to "My Home" then "Online Chess" (http://www.chess.com/echess/myhome.html) and then use the links under "Play Chess" to find games to play.

I'm not getting credit toward my 5 games by playing livechess.  So am I right in thinking they have to be the "online" games only?
