This game was probably played 16.03.1912 in St.Petersburg Chess Club tourney. Results this tournament was:

1.Alekhine - 7p/9

2.Levenfish - 6.5p

3-4. Rabinovitch and P.Romanowski - 6p etc.

Excellent play from Alekhine!!

Black may be 9 points up,but there is absolutely nothing they can do about it,after the perfect calculations of Grand Master Aleksander...

The two rook sacrifice is very similar to that that he used in the Immortal game. This appears to be a well developed pattern he uses.

lets all suppose that Levenfish took the knight instead of the rook at move 15.

axb5

what did alekhine have in mind?

Bxb5+ Kd1

Rd8+ (or Qd8+)

but after Bd2 or Kd2 game goes on i think ....
