2010 FIRST CALOOCAN CITY RAPID CHESS FESTIVAL SET MAY 8

The Northern part City of Metro Manila is back to active in chess organizing again when one of the prestigious event will kick-off the 2010 FIRST CALOOCAN CITY RAPID CHESS FESTIVAL (NON-MASTER 2100 and Below with KIDDIES U-14) on May 8, 2010 10:00am at G.R.A.C.E. College Inc. Blk 2B Lot 13 & 14 Dona Helen Camarin Road, Caloocan City. Organized by IM Yves Ranola, founder of Alonars Crown Chess Club and the Philippine Academy for Chess Excellence (PACE).

At stake are the guaranteed prizes for two categories:

NON-MASTER 2100 AND BELOW
Champion P 5,000 plus Trophy
2nd place P 3,000 plus Trophy
3rd place P 2,000 plus Trophy
4th place P 1,000 plus Medal
5th Place P 800 plus Medal
6th to 10th place P 500 each plus Medal
Top Caloocan City Player p 500 plus Medal
Top Senior P 500 plus Medal
Top Unrated P 500 plus Medal
Top Lady p 500 plus Medal

KIDDIES 14 YEARS OLD AND BELOW (Born on or after 1996)
Champion P 3,000 plus Trophy
2nd place P 2,000 plus Trophy
3rd place P 1,000 plus Trophy
4th place P 800 plus Medal
5th Place P 700 plus Medal
Best Under 12 Boys P 500 plus Medal
Best Under 12 Girls P 500 plus Medal
Best Under 10 Boys P 500 plus Medal
Best Under 10 Girls P 500 plus Medal
Best Under 8 Boys P 500 plus Medal
Best Under 8 Girls P 500 plus Medal

Tournament format shall be played in Seven(7) Round Swiss System and the rate of play is Twenty Five(25) minutes per player to finish the game. The tournament shall be limited to 300 participants only on a first come first serve basis. The tournament will be supervised by the National Association of Philippine Chess Arbiters (NAPCA).
