Hi , After having a lot of time at the moment , I decided to burn it with retaking chess after a 10 year break.

One of my favourite defences is the Alekhine.I started to read some chessbooks again and I stumbled on this bold move for black : 6. ... c5.

Isn't Nf6 a fuck off to white in the first place? Well , then c5 is another oneSmile

it creates some heavy fireworks on the board with razorsharp positions where the evaluation is unclear. Every minor glitch can turn the game into a rollercoaster of events that lead to disaster.

    this is the main line

black sacrafieces a pawn , but get's a playable position where a man to man fight will  determine the winner

I don't want to be a wet blanket but the line with 10.d6 (recommended, it locks the bishop at f8 out of the a3/f8 diagonal)10....Qh4+ 11.g3 Qe4+??? looses the queen.  The best black can do after g3 is run back home to d8.

My choice is from Alekhine Alert (Timothy Taylor) is to play 5....g6.

I made a mistake , it's the following line where blacks queen is trapped , with black having enough compensation

I currently have Starting Out :Alekhine's defence , but I might get Alekhine Alert.

Ok.  Still after 9....c4 White plays 10.d6 (not Nf3) locking in the king's bishop.
