Chess player Scholarships:
1st place over all winner will receive: Full tuition and fees scholarship
2nd place overall winner will receive: $3,000 room and board scholarship
3rd place overall winner will receive: $500 book scholarship
To be eligible: player must be in grades 9-12 and have a graduating GPA of 3.0 or above. Player must be accepted to WKU to redeem. Each scholarship is renewable annually depending upon maintenance of college GPA of 3.0 or above and active WKU Chess Club participation.

Side Event:
SOKY G/10 Championship: Fri 4/20. 7 SS, rated. Prizes: $250, $150, $75, $25. EF $15 by 4/14, See Open EF for discount rate. Reg: 5-6:30 pm. Rds: 7 pm then ASAP. Location: Faculty House, WKU Campus.

Scholastic Tournament: Sat. Only 4/21. 5 SS, G/30, USCF rated. Trophies to top five teams in each section, and top 8 individuals in each section. EF: $15 by 4/14, $25 on site. Reg: Sat. 8-9 am. Rd 1: 10 am. Rds: 2-5 ASAP/ as announced. SECTIONS: High School (k-12), Jr. High (k-8), Elementary (k-5), Primary (k-3, k-1). Format: 5 Round Swiss. Top 4 scores count towards team total. Friends and Family Tournament: Sat. Only 4/21. 5 SS, G/30, Non-rated. EF: $8 Reg: Sat. 8-9 am. Rds: see scholastic. Trophies to top 3 individuals in sections: Adult (18+), Seniors (50+), High-school (k-12), Primary (k-1). Trophies to top ten in sections: Jr. High (k-8), Elementary (k-5), Primary (k-3).
