Welcome everyone to this site!! It was the brains of 2 worthy players here on chess.com that this site took place! Feel free to post any chess advice you may have to offer to help other people improve their games!! So have fun and lets see some posts!!!
Scott-
I'm halfway through "Chess for Dummies". Once I finish that and get in a couple more games vs. the computer, I would love some instruction. Until then I kinda feel like I would be wasting our time. Great idea though. It is very intimidating to play a real person online. Yeah...I got beat in like four moves and was going to give up when I happened upon the book.

Scott,
I would be happy to play you. I am also a beginner (1000) and still studying almost everyday to try and improve. I have also started with the "chess for dummies" and now im on to "The Amatures Mind" by Jeremy Sillman (which was recommended to me from this site). I am a very laid back player who just likes to have fun with chess and work my brain. At this point i really dont care if i win or lose im just looking for players of my skill lvl.
First of all, welcome to the site scott and razor! I am canadian classic, otherwise known by all as cc!! I have been interested in both your comments and have decided to give u guys some advice. I have been playing chess here for the last 5-6 mths. I have always loved the game of chess, and always strive to improve my game. I have the same goals as u two, but choose to go about learning in a different direction. I watch video's, practice on the computer, and challenge some of the top players here. I was always worried about my game and how to improve it to a level i would be happy with. My advice to you two is to pick someone higher rated and, whether u learn or just to have fun, always ask questions. I'm not the best chess player here, but what i have is a willingness to win and play better. Nothing helps the game more than losing to higher rated players and asking questions after. So on behalf of the group, welcome and happy hunting!!!
