For the ladder to work I guess it would be helpful to know alittle about each member so here goes;

ECF grade 95 (which equates to 1700 FIDE and 1889 USCF)

I'm happy to go through anyones games but I would expect the player to have done it for themselves first (Fritz doesn't count!).

I am rated about 1400 on chess.com and have not been playing anywhere else.  I am willing to work with other players.  I am on my own self-inprovement program using chessmanster, chess mentor and the forums on this site.

If you are rated below me after playing 5 or more games challenge me UNRATED and 14 days per move.  Unrated alllows us to chat about moves and to play out games in ways they may not have gone had they been rated.

Ok time for me to introduce myself too :)

So... I've started to play chess really long time ago. My true adventure with it started when I bought Chessmaster 9 though. Great tutorials showed me what I'm missing. So I decided to study chess a little bit more and bought few chess books.

As I have never played in any club or tournament I don't have official rating. At the moment I am rated 1526 here on chess.com and it's much more than I expected when I joined :) My worst weakness is the opening.

I want to play with everyone no matter if he (she? ;)) is stronger or weaker. I can also comment games but remember that I'm not very strong so don't trust my judgement completely ;)

Hello, Bonjour, etc.

    I've been playing seriously everyday for the past 6 mo. and have put what time I could spare into learning and analyzing games.  I live in a Jarrasic age and didn't have a computer until recently (musicians lifestyle--can't stay in place to even set up a laptop!).  Bt when the day came, the first thing I bought was Chassmaster 10.  Then I discovered the internet and found sites to play on and game databases and learning tools..... I spent most of my time at Chessmaniac.com.  Depending on what site or computer you ask My rating is anywhere from 900-1600.  I tested officially  at 1450 several months ago.  I also played with and learned from IM Bob Foxx (2379) who'd tell you my pawns are better used as darts. (ha).  At chessmaniac, as enetertaining as it was to have a constant chat room, there was very little human help or offered instruction.  Not once were any of my posted games analyzed nor were my questions answered by those considerably better than me.  It's a rating grabbers site in my soured opinion (of course, I still go there to grab a game now and then!)

    I've learned a considerable ammount in these past  months and would love to help others where I can.  Anything I can do.  I also need HUMAN feedback from you guys when I run into the inevitable wall.  I'm Fritzed out.  I need a dialogue with another player.  Unrated, 14 day games are fine from here to the end of time.  I came to this group because Tom offered it up with these guiding principles:  learning, helping, Teaching, playing.  II'm ElstonGunn and I am a chessaholic. Please help me.  I'm as desperate as I sound!!!!!Surprised

    But seriously, let's play some chess!!!!!!!!  I aslo like Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones and Dostoyevsky and Marcel Marceau.  And 20 points to whomever can identify where my names came from.  Yours with a hanging pawn,------EG

Hi everyone, I'm Tonmoy. I'm a part time player and never competed in any official tournaments. My only practise partner is my Chessmaster 11 and I couldn't go past any of the built in charachters over 1200 ranking as they tend to try my patience out by taking 2-4 minutes per moves in rated matches and I get severely bored by staring at a monitor for that long. This is my first online chess experience and I already love it here. So how do I set up a game for any possible teacher and how do i set up a game for any possible students? I think one should always set up a pair or we decide not to help. That way all the peoblems discussed is the forum can be avoided.

Hwllo, I've been playing chess for nearly all of my life, but I didn't start studying it untill about a year and a half ago.  I'm between 1200 and 1300 at chess.com, and win in (is it OTB) almost every game I play on physical board, with few people beating me.  Although most of the people I've played don't care much about chess.  I am curently not a member of USCF, nor have I yet subscribed to Chess Mentor.  The reason for both of these is becouse of lack of money.
