Alexander Alekhine played the following blinfolded brilliancy as White in a military hospital in Tarnapol, Austria in 1916. Israel A. Horowitz in his book "All About Chess" calls it "A most amazing combination".

alekhine had a combinational vision unlike anyone else.  bronstein made some wonderful combos but i believe that alekhine's were...im not sure of the right word...bigger...maybe...i dare say deeper because bronstein could tackle VERY dense combos...anyway Fischer said that he didnt like alekhine because his games were too "heavy handed" but i think thats what made him memorable and great.  his heavy hand fell across the faces of many great players and smacked them stupid!

That is a ridiculous combination! Hard to fathom the blindfold aspect of it. Alekhine played an exciting brand of chess that has been rarely matched.

What a wonderful attack. He visioned the attack with closing his eyes. Genius.
