I 'll try to copy Alekhine's games,as they 've been presented and coomented in Alexander Kotov's book,in his series : "The Kings of Chess".

alekhine was THE man, i love his games above all others except for maybe tal or lasker depending on my mood.  he was so artistic, original, deep and heavy-handed.  he could play positional or in your face tactical too.  openings were good, mid-game was awsome and could hold his own in the end game.  a true chess champion that knew the ins and outs of the game.  thanks for sharing

Studying Alekhine's games and searching for more sources,I was surprised when I read Kasparov's comments in his book:"My grate precedators" about the game I've posted before "Treybal-Alekhine"!

This diagram is also enriched with Kasparov's comments!

He actually changes the history of the game analysis, that's been considered as right one for 80 years! He shows that Black could have been faster with 34...Qd5! and not with 34...d1=Q that it's been considered the best move for so many years! And with Computer's help, has found out that Alekhine's magic combination, after 48...Kh4 as Alekhine's anlysis indicates, was not right because of 48.Qb4!  And he concludes that "This game demostrate Alekhine's incredible ability of counting but also proves that any analysis with more than 5 moves, must have something wrong"!

The "pawn crushes queen" finish to the Rosanoff game is a stupendous treat! To think that this was Alexander's first game in his first tournament! He introduced himself to the chess world by flaunting a sparkling gem. Exhilarating!

Thanks much dioniso.  What is the threat that makes Black bring his King out on 19... Kf7!  ?
