alekhine was THE man, i love his games above all others except for maybe tal or lasker depending on my mood.  he was so artistic, original, deep and heavy-handed.  he could play positional or in your face tactical too.  openings were good, mid-game was awsome and could hold his own in the end game.  a true chess champion that knew the ins and outs of the game.  thanks for sharing

The "pawn crushes queen" finish to the Rosanoff game is a stupendous treat! To think that this was Alexander's first game in his first tournament! He introduced himself to the chess world by flaunting a sparkling gem. Exhilarating!

Please go to the comment of move 15.0-0-0 in the game between Nimzowitz-Alekhine 1912.

"The ingenious Nimzowitch prepares a dangerous trap! If 15...cxd4 16.exd4 Nxd4 17.Rxd4! Qxd4 18.Qxe6+ Nd7 19.Qc6+! bxc6 20.Ba6#"
If you follow that line you will be Tongue outTongue outTongue outCool extremely with the way that genius Nimzowitch was thinking !!really brilliant thought!!!
imagine Alekhine read that thought and didn't follow the trap!!

Thanks for posting these games. I especially like the annotations which help me to understand why the moves were played.
