killthequeen
This is Killthequeen. I am showing an interesting drawn position from one of my games. Though material was greatly different, the position looked drawn.

killthequeen,
I believe your right! I've gone over your game and cannot find a continuation. You did a great job of pushing your passed pawns (candidates) and forcing the draw with them!
Cool Game
thnx. i thought that i was done for before, but, having no dignity like a real chess player should have, i did not resign and accidently found myself drawn!
Hi killthequeen,
The following link is a game I played some time ago that proves playing for a draw can pay off, assuming the draw is still possible.
Here my only hope was to create a position in which my opponent would take my last mobile piece left without noticing the consequences. And sometimes those hopes come true.

Raising this thread from the grave. Only because this made me realize something. Maybe with such things the key component that creates (or makes it seem like) a draw is how the pawns that need to be promoted are the opposite color of your Bishop.
I didn't take this as much of a concern as of recently simply because of our last game played in which you stated was a draw (but wasn't )
You think this may be accurate?
Yes, as soon as I took the pawn I claimed it was a draw (it was blitz) but you took my h pawn with your king instead of your g pawn. Had you taken with your G pawn then it would have been dead drawn, as your bishop was not of the correct colour to promote your pawn, and my king could just cruise between h8 and g7.
If the bishop is the colour of the promotion square on the h and a files, then the pawn can be promoted. Otherwise, it can't be.
