I thought I would annotate a game here with the ever present beginner move 4.b3 in the benko. I despise this move because it really forces black to be creative in order to create winning chances. True white will always have a weak pawn on c4 after bxc4, but white can defend it and he has no other perceptible weaknesses. Still, black is in no danger of being worse.
Thanks for posting that eric. I am presently studying the Benko and that 4.b3 did elucidate some things for me.
