Hi, I just downloaded Arena and houndini, but when I click analyze the engine gives the same first move in almost all variations. So is there any way I can see alternative moves?

I think you want MPV mode:

1. Start arena with Houdini as the loaded engine.

2. Start Houdini (analyse)

3. Right click on the engine name:

4. Hover over "multi MPV mode"

5. Select as appropriate from drop down menu (I use MPV = 3).

Well, when I select three I still only see two different lines, is this because the engine takes a long time to get three different line?

Perhaps there is only two legal moves?

That wasn't it, but it is working now, although arena still seems quite buggy.
