Shame Puchen isn't playing. The best way to promote chess here is to get NZ's best to play these sorts of tournies.

Damn, haven't got the title right for this thread and can't edit it atm. 

There's Anthony Ker, Last years winner. Also Russel Dive is playing who is also highly rated.

I know, but Puchen is still the best player we have atm, aside from maybe Murray Chandler.

There really is no point in Puchen playing, he needs stronger opponents, the money isn't good enough and the is nil chance of a GM norm and Chandler could probably beat these guys blindfolded.

Just on a side note of national pride: Murray Chandler, our only Grandmaster has a plus record against Kasparov
