Now that we have enjoyed the start of a new era in America, we must continue our stuggles for the progressive agenda. This Saturday, in reaction to a huge army of anti-choice marchers (they have to bus them in, can't find many locals) a counterdemstration will take place along the Embarcadero. A special feature is the Pieces of 8 artistic protest, with entertainers along the march route performing to capture the attention of the crowd.
This is what I am organizing. If you have any artistic talent (or not) you are invited to come along and perform in any manner you wish in the "green zone" of our protest, which will use creativity rather than insults. Saturday, January 24, 10:30 AM, Embarcadero and Market. The BACORR mass protest is for women's rights and marriage equality for all.
Performers expected include the Raging Grannies, Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, David Gans, and several choral groups.

Thanks for the post Eric.
Keep up the good fight. I urge everyone to stay focussed and remember that just because we have a new democratic president in office, it doesn't mean the ideals of progressive governance will come easily or automatically. Demonstrations like the one Eric has organized and mentioned above are important tools to help expand the progressive agenda, and to be effective we must be willing to show a solidarity of support for the issues that mean so much to the progressive cause-- aka California's Prop Eight. So please if you are in or near the Bay area stop by for a bit and show your support.
A really cool link.
