I started a new tournament for BDG opening.

Oh, gosh! Thanks, wesnerm.
UNFORTUNATELY ... I am out of pocket - and I mean out of pocket - for 4 days during early June, so I'm guessing I should not sign up since the tournament is No Vacation, for I would surely forfeit all 5 games - something I would not want to do.
Maybe, I'll catch the next one - unless you know of some way around my dilemma?
I'd get the no vacation requirement out.
Thanks, wesnerm ... I've registered.
Another question: The picture suggests that 1.d4 d5 2.e4 is the stem line. That's fine, surely, but it will allow a large number of transpositions prior to reaching the gambit proper. Two other possible choices might be: a) 1.d4 d5 2.e4 de4 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.f3 - the gambit offered, leaving both accepted and declined options available, or b) 1.d4 d5 2.e4 de4 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.f3 ef3 - the gambit accepted, allowing all relevant lines forward.
I'm not sure what you have in mind. But your option or either of these all have value, just that the latter two avoid things like 1.d4 d5 2.e4 c6 (Caro-Kann) and 1.d4 d5 2.e4 e6 (French), etc.
Your tournament, so your call.
Thanks again for turning no vacation off ...

Looking through the Book Openings features in Chess.com, neither of the two lines that you proposed have a name, and thus I can't choose either line for the tournament.
The closest is a line that does not include any knight moves.

Ah. Something I did not understand: you must find a named variation in the Openings Explorer to set a thematic event in place. Sorry, I was not aware of that.
So, we'll go with the line as is.
Perhaps at some point I will ask Support about fixing this. It would seem to me that if one can get a picture of the desired starting position on the screen in the Explorer, one ought to be able to use that as the starting point of a thematic, however - regardless of some naming convention.
