In bughouse chess, there are 2 teams of 2 players. And 2 boards, too. Teammates play on separate boards and opposite colors. When you capture a piece, it goes into your teammate's storehouse.Your teammate can, instead of making a normal move, put a piece on the board from the storehouse. Pieces can only be placed on vacant squares. Pawns may not be placed on the first and last rank. If a promoted pawn is captured, it becomes a pawn in the storehouse. The game ends as soon as anybody gets checkmated. So even if you are about to lose in one turn, but your teammate checkmates his/her opponent your team wins. The game will start as soon as we have 4 players ready to go. Post your move using algebraic notation. When placing a piece from the storehouse, use the @ symbol in your notation. For example to place a knight from the store house on d6, type N@d6. When I see a move posted I will update and flip the diagram. Also, the games are not simultaneous. Board A can be on move 20 while board B is on move 2. Please post something when you join so that I know. Make sure you track this topic so that you know when it is your move. Have fun!

I would like to play. This looks very much like the "transfer chess" I used to play in highschool.
Why are there moves on the board?
Woo hoo! We have our 4th. The moves on the board? I think oinquarki made moves on the wrong bughouse boards. They should be the bug 9 moves maybe?
Okay - welcome aboard get_lost - let's let oinquarki know we're ready to play (and remind falling-upwards).
i'm here
Should we start and post the boards as we go? I'm really keen to play something other than atomic chess (which I am sucky at)
idk O usually gets on around 11 or 12 (chicago time)
Board A White Team 1: - falling-upwards
Board B Black Team 1: - pompom
Board A Black Team 2: - orinoco_w
Board B White Team 2: - get_lost
Oh, a couple of quick things while I'm posting
(1) can we check and checkmate with a drop move?
(2) do pawns promote?
Sorry about that. I didn't see your post there! I guess it just - Warning: lame joke ahead - "got lost" somehow.
i play with yes to both of those questions
Cool! Let's play!
