4 me it's cats by a mile. Here are my reasons

    1. You can pet them whenever and they don't bother you when u don't want 2 pet them

2 They are great outdoors and won't runaway after a chipmunk.

3 If there outdoor cats they walk themselves, and take care of there own leavings.

    4 I think there softer

5 They make a great sound when there happy.

Dogs for me! Here is why:

    1. They are energetic and friendly toward the owner

    2. They aren't lazy, you can spend some quality excercise time with them

    3. They can actually protect the house

    4. Your Lap + Warm Puppy = Smile

I quote from an add somewhere "cats could easily be mans best freind but would never stoop so low as to admit it" cat's can be lazy sometimes they aren't all it takes is a string, they like ur lap to, and they can be energenic.

Dogs are cool to but cat's ruleSmile

P.S. i love little puppies too

I love dogs -- but only other people's dogs. For myself, I prefer cats. Though it's great to be greeted by a dog, their super-exuberance can be a bit much sometimes. So I'm happy to walk my neighbors' dogs (who adore me) but thrilled to come home to my placid, lazy, lovely, little cats.

Cats are easier to care for, better cuddlers, and not as LOUD.  Mine will even play fetch with me.  Dogs may be better at protecting the house from humans, but cats are better at protecting it from critters (which are much more likely to try and get in than humans - depending on where you live of course).

    Both, here is why:

    • Because I love them
    • Because they love me
    • And they love each other
    • We are a one big family together

Cats! definitely cats for me. Dogs are nice but cats are just too cudly, Nothing the dogs Do can beat the feeling that the cat Purr gives you.
its even fun to watch an angry cat. hell, its good to watch a cat in any mood.

I love something about their personality: You cant make the cat do what you want when you want. its a free animal, more like a friend.

Dont like dogs for one reason: Dogs Kill cats (mostly), and i've lost a few cats to 'em. And one survived with 3 stitches to the stomach(thats pretty big for a cat) Here:

This one is a few hours after the bite (only if you wanna see)

This one's after the stitches, and dressing.

And now after he's fully recovered.

'Laughs at WolfLeader'... I guess they are technically classified as a dog. :)

For me it's 100% dogs all the way. For me... my favorite is a cousin of the dog, but they are technically a dog, similar to wolves. Mine is the fox.

    I love dogs.

I've never had a cat so I can't say whether I like them or not, but I wouldn't mind keeping one. I think they are very graceful and beautiful animals.

But dogs are truly man's best friend:

    1. They are used during search and rescue operations after natural disasters.

    2. They can sniff out drugs and explosives.

    3. They have been known to warn their masters who are about to suffer epileptic seizures.

    4. They are taken to hospitals to cheer up patients.

    5. They can serve as guide-dogs to the blind.

    6. They fetch the morning newspaper ( unless they prefer to tear it up Laughing)

Really, it is up to you. I say anyone who is saying putdowns about one or the other is just getting emotional.

Personally, Iike cats. I have 3 (1 fetcher)

But I know lots of great dogs.

    Horned_Owl:

#1- search dogs are more popular but cats are equally trainable and have far more acute senses.

#2- again, cats can do that too

#3- I don't have anything to say about that, maybe cats could, but no data to back that up

#4- some cats could cheer up patients. it would have to be a carefully selected one, but you have to do that for comfort dogs too.

#5- a cat is too small to guide someone (except maybe those maine coons, I have 2!Smile)

#6- nice feature, but I don't get newspapers, and would like the exercise anyways.
