for some reason I keep running into this kind of thing and I don't know what to do

I would move the king to d5 to get more inward on the chess board.  If you stay near the outside, it's more likely for the black to checkmate you.

then wat if black does qd3? or qd4?

thats a draw isnt it?  white dances along the B and C files until the queen can help block checks eventually leading to a draw by perpetual check, a trade of queens=draw, or three move repition...

The best bet for this is to run some fritz at a high level with this setup and learn how to run them into the corner.  This position isn't drawn, it's very winable as there are very subtle moves that a newer player can make with can throw the entire game.
