This is going to be the thread for all championship-related stuff. When the preliminaries start, I'll post a table for our group so we can all see the standings. It is also a good place for anyone to ask any questions they may have about the championship.

It is currently scheduled to start in early July. I'm pretty sure if participation is good we can make division two with ease. I'll update you all when I recieve information.

Yes Milner, your name is down. I'm hoping they'll do the draws for the preliminary rounds soon so that we can see who our opponents will be!

We could probably do with some more chess players. I'll be sure to mention it to a few more Portsmouth Chess Club members.

Thanks, Tom. I know it seems like we need more players (and we do!) but actually there are many counties with only three or four members right now. I have problems recruiting online as a lot of people don't respond!

Where is the listing of current  hampshire tournament? How is hampshire doing?

Hampshire is currently in Division 2. Division 2 is split into two groups. In our group, we have three opponents- Oxfordshire (who we've beaten), Kent (yet to be decided), and Cheshire, with whom our match has not yet started.
