I think some of our players' were a bit ambitious to think we could win this match when you look at our ratings. You don't need to enter a match to  play a higher ranked player to get experience. If we all want to win our matches I think we should all play in our own ratings.

Paul, at the start of the contest between Essex v Derbyshire, my rating was 1796, having drawn one game and winning three others. My two matches against glafnazur139 were not the only ones I played during this contestand it was unfortunate that I lost four matches in a row, reducing my rating from 1796 to 1566.

I consider myself a decent player of chess and to me, it doesn't matter if your rating is 1300 or 2500, it is how you play on the day. My first game against glafnazur139, I dominated the game but made one stupid move and the game swung his way.

I do not feel that I was too ambitious to take on glafnazur139. If anything, I did not choose this player to begin with. This was determined when you registered to enter the contest or robparker and is counterpart for Derbyshire chose who played whom. It is just unfortunate that I did not do enough to win my matches.
