Despite the dreadful start to the season I dont think anyone should despair, our squad is shaping up pretty nicely. Name what starting lineup you'd like to see next season assuming everyones fit.
Mines as follows
Howard
Heitinga Jagielka Distin Baines
Bilyaletdinov Cahill Fellaini Arteta Pienaar
The Yak (or Jo)
Only problem with this is it leaves no room for Neville. In quality terms I would say that he doesnt fit into that lineup in CM, RB or CB. However the morale boost and solidarity he brings as a captain are worth more than that.
Will be interesting to see what Moyes does with the team, especially in defense where we will have Yobo, Distin, Neville and Jags for CBs and Hibbert, Heitinga and Neville for RBs. Looks like we'll have a rare situation at Everton where there will actually be competition for places!

As I always preach football is about one thing alone - Scoring Goals. If a team can't score they can't win no matter the defense. Exactly which one of these players in the lineup is Everton's game breaking scorer? I'll bet that lineup has every team in football shaking in their boots. There is a name for not facing reality. It is called insanity.
The Blues didn't get a goal against Burnley. They were lucky to have one at all against Aresenal (since Arsenal let down and gave up one consolation goal). The Blues were tied in regulation with Sigma for lack of goals. In fact (right now) Everton is a lazy team. They beat Sigma 4-0 at home and decided to take it easy, go have a pint at the nearest pub and come back to the game at half time. Sports teams like that are winded and out of shape losers with don't care attitudes. That is all I'm seeing. Anyone say, "We lost to Arsenal and are dedicating ourselves to winning our next five in a row to make up for that terrible performance". We are very sorry we let our fans down." "Pride cometh before a fall". With the attitudes they have we can expect to lose a lot more games, so reserve eight place for Everton this season. 6-1 to Arsenal and Blues fans believe the team can compete?
Can Distin, Baines and Bilyaletdinov turn this nose dive around? Well, Moyes says that's what they are getting paid for. They should at the least provide a morale boost.
Lazy, unfocused teams are headed nowhere, no matter the sport. I have only seen that happen the past 45 years in sports. Moyes did not have "his team " ready to play against Sigma. It was a poor result against a team they had beaten 4-0. The reason for that was the next team on the schedule had to pay for the Arsenal disaster. Second time around, what if Sigma had gotten the go ahead goal? Everton then would have had to depend on defense, like the always do, but still remain behind a goal they would have beeen unlikely to win back. Not only that, Sigma is a less than average team. They almost failed to get into this tourament. Moyes wants his nose in front of a TV camera but does not want to coach these players and find them a strategy to score goals - which they are not doing. We have a lazy manager. Wigan scores goals. Wigan does score goals. Everton does not score goals. The Blues had more draws in the Premier League last year than any other team. Moyes doesn't coach, he poses. Don't worry about Wigan. Let's just dream about coming in first in the Premier League ahead of Manchester Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. Let's let those teams "put us up where we belong" in first place. Everton can just wiggle their backsides and make it happen, hands in pockets. "We don't need to worry over any late goals. We will be beating all these teams 8-0 by halftime". Move over Polyanna and Mary Poppins, I think you're in my seat.
Everton is absolutely satisfied with draws. I AM NOT. It shows a lack of commitment to even try and get goals when late goals would clinch the games. It has been Everton in danger of losing in the final four minutes of regulation last season, not the other teams. Was that due to a lack of conditioning, or a lack of talent? When you can't score goals, you quit and hang back on the field. That's due to change now? That is changing because Moyes and Neville say it is? Those two need to put up or shut up. Talking does not score goals. Moyes talks a good game. Maybe he needs to suit up. The final minutes are exactly the moments when an Excellent Team wants to pound one through. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going". Everton made it to fifth place last season, not because they won, don't forget, but because Astin Villa lost. Football is about Scoring Goals, which Everton has shown they cannot do. Whether they score goals or not will be up to this new line up? A line up that so far does not include Phil Jagielka?
I can't wait for Everton to play Liverpool. Just hope Moyes and Neville will have them ready. Maybe they can talk the Blues into winning. Maybe the should wear cheerleader outfits.
"Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy Talk. Talkin' about what you want to do". "If you don't have a dream. If you don't have a dream, how you gonna' have a dream come true?"
The TV cameras would love it, and it beats having to be out on the pitch everyday coaching. That would be actual work. "Winning takes more than just wanting to." Where is this effort?
How can a team make it to 5th place and then give up right away the next season. Everton has shown themselves to be weak minded. They may as well wear signs around there necks," We can be easily beaten ". Wigan may prove just how weak Everton is. Wigan this season has shown they want to do better than last year. That they want to score more goals. They want to win. Wigan has team spirit. Moyes is thinking about Europe and not about Wigan Athletic. Could be another dangerous disaster waiting to happen. With luck the new aquisitions will want to show the fans a victory in their first game. If we lose to Wigan it will, no doubt, be just another bump in the road to first place in the Premier League. Everton is so good they can get into fisrt place without actually doing anything. That's the spirit! Win or lose the paycheck is the same. Moyes knows Everton still may be able to secure themselves a spot in the Japanese League. No worries. He's all about foreign cultures.

I doubt there will be positive comments in the newspapers about Everton if they keep losing.

Simply put, people do not like to face reality if the news is bad. Let's turn Bad News into Goody, Goody, Good and skip down the road. Everton has the best team in the History of English Football, they just have not proven it yet. How do we prove it? We go undefeated the rest of the season. I'm all for that!
The fact is Everton does not score enough goals. Whoever says they do is a damned liar, and knows it.
good team however billy and heitinga i think are left-sided players which makes
you think when are problems are on the right [Hibbo and osman] our problems our not helped by the fact our defenders good as they are defending, they are not good at passing [hence the long ball] and do not score enough goals which is why billy is crucial .
what about rodwell talk has it he will bcome a centre half why not a gerrard?
will comment after tommorows game
Heitinga's a right back so thats ok. As for Rodwell I think we'll have to wait and see. I dont think he quite has the quality to be that sort of player in midfield but I hope I'm wrong.
