Well, so the plan so far is to have the following categories and editors for each category:

  1. Best games
  2. Best Tactics
  3. Best strategy
  4. Best novelty
  5. Best endgame

I think that maybe we also can have different categories by rating, for example open, under 2200, under 2000 and so on, but in this case we will need to haveĀ  editors in each category.

It would be very nice if the winners in the open categories will be presented in the video lecture format, in other categories probably in the forum format. Now the tricky part is choice of the games, I think games have to be submitted by the chess.com members. Next step would be for editor to select for example 10 most interesting games (or fragments) and send it to the jury. Jury will grade all these games. In the case if the magazine will become popular we will need more editors in each category, but then every editor will nominate less games to the jury. Another option is to make members of the chess.com to vote for best game, but I am afraid it might not work, because it will make possible for some people to "fund raise" they vote. So I hope that also we can discuss here what other things we can do to create a magazine and may be to bring some staff members to help us with organization of this magazine.
