    A recent game I played on the Free Internet Chess Server (FICS).  I wrote in some annotation on move 15.  Other than that, could someone please analyze this game for me?  I know I played poorly, but I'm an about 1100 level player facing a 1600+ player in this game. :P

    If you want to reach me on that server;
    FICS Handle: EternalPatzer
    FICS Rating: 1423
    (Yes, I stole my handle off the staff guy on this site.  Boo hoo. Smile)

    Thanks!
    If you need the move list to do your own annotated version of this game (preferred), just message me.

    Tell you what, BasicDefence.......when I was a beginner five months ago, seriously, I played the first three lines something like you did.

    But tell you what. Next time you come across d5 against e4 (the center-counter), trust me, unless you know your opponent has never lost with the Center-counter, take the pawn. Don't be afraid and immediately think of protecting your pawn. If he takes out the Queen, I can give you a whole lot of games and lines that either trap the Queen, give you a lead in development, center and time or have a positional and material advantage.

    If, however, he chooses to excecute Nf6 (which is rare but better than Qxd5), develop and control the center. Let the pawn be taken, after all, it only makes the material even. Then you will have a small advantage of center and development.

    If it's not these two lines that Black excecutes, don't worry, follow your instincts. It can't be a good line if it's not popular and known. If you want the lines, tell me in my notes or send me a message.

    Alright, thank you very much turn!

    This advice should hopefully help me.  I actually just started a study on how to counter the Scandinavian, which should further my knowledge in response to d4.

    I'll be sure to message you if I run into it again without success.

    Thanks again!
