just curious. both are iconic. one broods one dreams, one screams one sings, one plays in silence one echoes in voice, what knows the color of silence one the colour of sound. one is my favorite. is one yours?

Pink Floyd is Roger

Pink Floyd is David

Pink Floyd is the spirit of Syd

Pink Floyd is Nick

Pink Floyd is Richard

and Pink Floyd are everyone who suffered when they were fighting each other.

I have no just one favorite. But all the group. Actually, "together we stand, divided we fall"

They say that in a divorce, if the parents fight, the children suffer the most.  Likewise, when a band gets divorced, if they fight, it's the fans who suffer the most.  This was most certainly the case as nothing that either half did came close to what they achieved together.  However, I would say that Gilmore sounds better without Waters than Waters does without Gilmore.  Both sound better WITH the other tho.

I agree - well said.

As a musician (and as a person), though, I would much rather work with Dave Gilmour.

I'd side with Gilmour. As a youth-full-rage brought me to the band I thought that Waters knew everything I was thinking. His angst is contagious to the energy and intelligence that boys growing to men wrestle with. Now though, as I have dug endless holes and watched the relative sun rise everyday; I find the sound of Gilmour's voice  so clean and honest. Plus, his guitar work is some of the best ever.

Roger and David are like the yin-yang.  One is associated with the dark and cold, while the other symbolizes light and warmth, and together they create the perfect balance.

Too hard to pick a favorite player, album, or song.  The closest I could get would be "Wish You Were Here", and "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" (all nine parts).  Still, even that is an approximation, as I thoroughly enjoy EVERY album, even "Atom Heart Mother".
