ATTN: Group Members
I appreciate the feedback received in the forums I started a couple of weeks ago.
Some of you want us to keep the name Chess Association, while others like the idea of changing our group's name to Sleepless Knights.
This forum has been established to determine if the majority of you would like us to keep the name Chess Association, or change the name to Sleepless Knights.
If you would like the name of our group to remain the same, then vote:
1 Chess Association
If you would like the name of our group to change, then vote:
2 Sleepless Knights
Voting begins Sunday, the 8th of November, 2009, and ends Saturday, the 14th of November, 2009.
One vote per member.
Majority rules.

Group Name - Decision time!
To those of you who expressed an opinion, one way or the other, regarding the issue of possibly changing our group's name from Chess Association to Sleepless Knights, thank you!
Chess Association and Sleepless Knights are good names, and strong cases were made for both names. Your participation decided the outcome.
Rather than determine the winning name by a count of the votes, as I had originally planned, I have made the following decision, which I hope satisfies all interested parties:
1) Chess Association is, and will continue to be, the name of this group. To those of you who argued passionately to keep the name, this is good news and cause to celebrate. In addition, Chess Association's sub-groups, divided by continent or region (Chess Association - Africa, Chess Association - Antarctica, Chess Association - Arabia, Chess Association - Asia, Chess Association - Europe, Chess Association, Chess Association - North America, and Chess Association - South America) will also retain their current names. If you are a member of Chess Association but have not yet joined the sub-group that pertains to the continent in which you reside, then please do so now, so that you can socialize with chess players who live in your part of the world, and so that you can participate in team matches, tournaments, vote chess games, forums, and other activities, which will help strengthen the group and encourage camaraderie and pride among chess players within your continent or region of the world.
2) Sleepless Knights is a new group that you may join. To those of you who wanted us to change the name of our group from Chess Association to Sleepless Knights, this is good news and cause to celebrate as well. In addition to the main group, Sleepless Knights, sub-groups, divided by continent, will be created today: Sleepless Knights - Africa, Sleepless Knights - Antarctica, Sleepless Knights - Arabia, Sleepless Knights - Asia, Sleepless Knights - Europe, Sleepless Knights - North America, Sleepless Knights - Oceania, and Sleepless Knights - South America. If you join the main group, Sleepless Knights, then please also join the sub-group that pertains to the continent in which you reside, so that you can give socialize with chess players who live in your part of the world, and participate in the group's team matches, tournaments, vote chess games, forums, and other activities, which will help strengthen the group and encourage camaraderie and pride among chess players within your continent or region of the world.
3) This is a win-win situation for everyone. You may choose to be a member of Chess Association or Sleepless Knights, or you may be a member of both groups. Although Chess Association and Sleepless Knights will operate independently of each other, they will be friends and will work in partnership with each other.
4) I need to build an administrative staff for Sleepless Knights, since the group is new and needs to focus on growth and development. I would encourage those of you who are interested in contributing to the success of the group to write me a private message, letting me know a little about yourself. I am looking to fill administrative positions for the Sleepless Knights and all of its continental and regional sub-groups. I am looking for self-motivated, results-oriented individuals who have strong communication skills, and the ability to work in cooperation with others.
5) I am also looking to fill administrative positions with Chess Association and all of its continental and regional sub-groups. I am looking for self-motivated, results-oriented individuals who have strong communication skills, and the ability to work in cooperation with others.
Best regards,
Charles Frey (Illuminatus)
